Keep Marietta Beautiful is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and associated with Keep Georgia Beautiful. KMB was established in 1983 and has a board of up to twenty-five members, five of whom may be emeritus. The Commission is a non-profit board whose Director is employed by the City of Marietta. KMB is closely associated with the city and operates with the city’s support and assistance.
KMB is involved with environmental education and encouraging citizens and other volunteers to take an active interest in their environment and community. Our major projects include: Love the Loop and Marietta Mile (Adopt -a- Mile), Rivers Alive, water education on conservation and non-point source pollution, Tree Keepers and other tree planting (including Arbor Day celebrations), Christmas Tree Recycling, encouraging recycling and providing recycling education, Teacher Supply Storehouse, Litter-free events at the Concerts and other events, floats in the 4th of July parade, education in the classrooms, beautification projects, and many clean-ups.
